N.C. was a seventeen-year old high school drop-out, who left school after completing the 10th grade. She lived with her mother and the relationship was turbulent, which required her to move into a group home. Realizing that not completing high school was hurting her chances of finding a job, stable housing and a bright future, she came to Jewish Community Services (JCS) and entered the Y.A.S.S. program. JCS registered her in a training center to complete her high school diploma, which she completed. During her 90 day follow up, she stated that after receiving her high school diploma, she enrolled in Miami Lakes Technical College’s Cosmetology Program.
